Program Information
This 14-week bridging program qualifies students to transfer into Year 3 of the Sheridan Honours Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (Information Systems Security) program. Information Systems Security is a one-of-a-kind information science degree program with a stellar reputation among employers.
The bridging term runs from May through August and consists of three composite courses, two core courses and one liberal arts elective:
Mathematics (3 credit hybrid delivery course)
IS Security Overview (4 credit online course)
Information Systems Forensics and Investigations (3 credit core course)
Algorithm Development and Data Structures (4 credit course)
CPU Architecture and Assembly Programming Language (3 credit core course)
Liberal Arts elective (3 credit course)
After completing the bridging term, you'll be eligible to enrol in Year 3 of the information science program as a full-time student. Once enrolled, you'll need to meet all remaining program requirements. You'll also be expected to meet any missing liberal arts breadth course requirements, at the bachelor degree level.
Eligible applicants must have completed a three-year diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Systems Technology, Computer Programmer Analyst, Computer Science Technology or Telecommunications Technology and have a cumulative average of at least 65% in core courses.
Applicants who've completed core courses in the first two years of a computer-related program at the university level with a cumulative average of 65 % in core courses will also be eligible for admission into the bridging term.
If your transcript is older than four years, you may be required to demonstrate industry currency through related relevant experience.

Sheridan has been granted a consent by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer this degree for a further seven-year term starting January 19, 2022 and subject to renewal thereafter. Application to the Ministry for renewal of the consent is a prescribed and cyclical requirement for degree programs at all Ontario Colleges. Sheridan will ensure that all students admitted to the Honours Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (Information Systems Security) program during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame. Credentials earned during the period of consent remain valid, even if Ministry consent to offer the program is withdrawn in the future. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (e.g. acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies or other educational institutions).
