Fleming College awards advanced standing and assigned (equivalencies) and unassigned credits to recognize previous learning.

The number of PLAR/transfer credits will be limited by the residency requirement which states that at least 25 percent of the instruction hours required in a program of study must be completed at the College.

Courses completed within the past 5 (five) years are eligible for transfer credit consideration.

Follow these steps to receive your PLAR assessment at Fleming College:
- Inquire about the PLAR process by emailing the Transfer Credit Coordinator at transfercredit@flemingcollege.ca. You will receive further information regarding the PLAR process and eligibility.
- If you wish to proceed, pay the PLAR fee in the Registrar's Office. The Registrar's Office will notify the Academic Chair that fees have been paid and the assessment process begins.
- The deadline to initiate an application for PLAR in a course for which the applicant is currently enrolled is the end of the registration period, as defined by the Academic Calendar.

The PLAR fee is approximately $157.42 per course and must be paid prior to initiating an assessment. This fee is non-refundable. Review the PLAR website for more information (https://flemingcollege.ca/admissions/prior-learning-assessment-and-recognition)

Transfer credits will be recorded on your Fleming College transcript as “EX” for specified individual courses and will not be included in the GPA calculation.

There is no fee required for a transfer credit assessment at Fleming College.

The documentation required to have your previously completed postsecondary education assessed for transfer credit at Fleming College includes:

- Course outline(s)
- Official transcript(s) upon conditional approval of the course outline

Completed Transfer Credit applications must be received by the applicable course drop deadline.

A transfer credit decision at Fleming College will take 10 business days to process, depending on the volume of requests.
Students will be emailed to notify them of the results.

A Transfer Credit decision can be re-evaluated if additional information or documentation is provided to support the request within 30 calendar days of the original decision date. Contact transfercredit@flemingcollege.ca to initiate the re-evaluation process.
The request must include a detailed explanation of the rationale for the reevaluation and new supporting documentation.
