Program Residency Requirement

Students must complete the following 15.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Media Studies degree:

  • 0.5 MDST 1010H – The Digital World 
  • 0.5 MDST 1535H – Introduction to Media Studies
  • 1.0 additional Media Studies credit
  • 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List
  • 1.0 MDST 2035Y – Media and Society; or 0.5 MDST 2535H – Media and Society and 3535H – Television Studies 
  • 5.0 additional Media Studies credits 
  • 4.0 elective credits 

*Additional notes: Courses without specified year levels must include at least 3.0 credits at the 3000 and/or 4000 level(s); and no more than 3.0 credits at the 1000 level.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
