Transfer pathways search

Students entering the Community and Justice Services Diploma program prior to Fall 2020 will receive the following 7.0 transfer credits, provided they meet eligibility requirements: 

• 0.5 CRIM 1615H – Introduction to Criminology
• 0.5 CRIM 2619H – Families of Prisoners
• 0.5 PSYC 1030H – Introduction to Psychology Part 2: Social and Personality Perspectives
• 0.5 SOCI 1002H – Introduction to Sociology II: Exploring Social Life
• 0.5 SOCI 2220H – Intersecting Social Inequalities
• 0.5 WRIT 1001H – Write in Time
• 0.5 unassigned Criminology credit at the 2000 level
• 2.5 unassigned Arts credits at the 1000 level
•  0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Science credit at the 1000 level

Transfer credits for students who entered the Community and Justice Services Diploma program prior to Fall 2020 will be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

To qualify for this agreement, students must: 

• Successfully complete Niagara College’s Community and Justice Services Diploma program; 
• A minimum overall average of 75%.

Students interested in degree programs not included in this pathway are referred to the Trent University website for information about admission requirements. Applicants will be considered in accordance with Trent University's general admission requirements. Students who meet the terms of the pathway will be eligible to receive the block of credits, but all transfer credits received may not be apply in full to all degree programs. 

Applicants who do not meet the minimum average requirements, but who are otherwise admissible to Trent University, will be considered for admission based on general admission requirements.

• 0.5 CRIM 3617H - Criminological Data Analysis 
• 0.5 CRIM 3650H - Doing Crime and Doing Time: Advanced Research Design 
• 0.5 CRIM 3660H- Policing and Punishing Poverty 
• 0.5 FRSC 1100H - Introduction to Canadian Justice 
• 0.5 INDG 1001H - The Foundation of Reconciliation 
• 0.5 INDG 3210H - Indigenous Peoples in Urban Centers - City as Home 
• SOCI 1001H - Introduction to Sociology: Critical Foundations 
• 2.0 Criminology credits at the 4000 level
• 2.5 additional Criminology credits at the 3000 and/or 4000 level(s)
• 4.0 additional credits

*Additional notes:

• Courses without specified year levels must include at least 0.5 credit at the 3000 or 4000 level, and no more than 0.5 credit at the 1000 level.
• The Criminology degree is also offered fully online.

This Agreement will be reviewed annually, or more frequently if significant curriculum changes occur at either institution that may impact the pathway. Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing one year's written notice to the other party. In the event of termination, the parties will make reasonable efforts to ensure that students currently enrolled in the pathway are able to complete their studies without disruption.
